Success!!!

Okay, the kitchen resembled a mad scientist's laboratory, my black t-shirt is smudged with flour, my fingers were left with some sticky residue of the tapioca starch and honestly, I've never been this full since.... last year's raya? What have I been doing?

Making daifuku again XD

No worries, this time it's a success even though the daifuku is a wee bit out of shape. Nevertheless, the taste is there and now I could make my own daifuku, yatta!!! Thanks to Dee for giving me some tips during our sms conveyance after my first attempt basically turned out hard and not consumable due to the wrong type of flour that I used.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
My second try ^_^

Gahhh... honestly eating a piece of that daifuku would make me full for at least one whole day. Well at least that's what I think based on the total blerghhh feeling I am having now. That was also because of the food that I ate during break-fast in addition with some food that my abah brought back home from the mosque. It's Nisfu Sya'aban night. 15 more days to Ramadhan ^_^

Aduh... nak pengsan.

I Love My Weekend Report

As I said earlier, I love my weekends XD. Last Sunday, Dee dropped by from KL for her friend's convo on Monday, so before that we could have a day of Arashi spazzing, yatta!!! I brought my cousin Irra along for the day for our excursion to Jusco Tebrau. Being on off-day, it is hard to find a parking near to the entrance door but of course, with my trusty Kancil I managed to squeeze into a spot few steps further from Harris.

First stop - Harris for some browsing. Arashi's 1999 - 2000 single collection was still there looking sabishii amongst W-inds' and Lead's CD. Then went over to the drama section for some unofficial drama reviewing. I know Dee was hungry with her going "harahenta~~ "(lol) so we went to Yoshinoya. The food was great and there I produced a picture album and an issue of Potato that Dee and I brought along with Arashigoto book. Irra couldn't get her eyes off Dohmoto Koichi's album cover in the mag for a certain reason (*shakes head*).

Kon~ Kon~~

Afterwards we went some browsing at some mobile phone shop for some prospective 'future to buy' phones. Dee was smitten by the Motorola Pebl while myself, the new Samsung SGH-E870. It's simple, it's white, it's rectangle. Did I mention that it is simple? So, my birthday is coming up next week... could someone give me that as a present? *doe-eyes* wahahahaha. Then we went for my favourite green tea ice cream at the Legend of Tea. Umai! Amai! Oishii~~~

*Drools*

And so we hunted a few some unlucky candidate to be our photographer for the day near the Maxis promotional booth in front of Harris while being watched kind of weirdly by the guys at the booth *kowaii~~*

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Dee and I was detained by one of the Maxis promoters while Irra was being stolen from us by the Maxis guy. Few seconds afterwards while I was engaged in a "Buy-this-you-get-this-free" session, Dee was stolen away - for a game of Uno Stacko, hahahaha. After buying a top-up card from the promoter, I went for the Lara Do S - minor sports banchou mode - document the happenings of course XD

Dee's game session ended early with the Maxis guy being the structure destroyer and was awarded a Maxis notepad with the hanging stuff thingy. As for Irra, the game went one for nearly an hour and during that time she managed to attract a sizable group of viewers/fans who cheered for her. It was gruelling though, in the end she won the game, banzai!!! Because of the long period she was given a Maxis bag.

We went back to Irra's home and gone through a marathon of August's G No Arashi that I've burnt earlier on. It was crack going through the Sho X Ohno Picture Match Pt 2, Aiba's A No Arashi and Minor Sports Pt 4 episode. My uncle's and my aunt's attention managed to veer off of Siti Nurhaliza & Datuk K's wedding reception at the other TV with Aiba's baka experiment, hehehe.

It was a fun weekend. Dee!! Next time boleh spend weekend lagi!!! Yatta!!!!

I Love My Weekends!!!

Some people would sleep in during weekend as a means to catch up with their relaxing time. As for me, it would be different. I would wake up way earlier than normal working days and of course spend my weekend to the fullest. Last weekend was great. Went over to Mimit's house in Singapore along with Helena and had a sleepover. The initial plan was to join other Arashian for Jun's early birthday but because of a twist of the event, we chose to watch Umizaru 2 at Cineleisure. Helena missed her bus during her trip to the restroom, poor her. The baka driver didn't actually check the seat and so her bag reached Larkin first before her.

Then again, we didn't manage to watch Umizaru 2 since it was sold out so there we were going over to Kinokuniya and Mise. Night time, of course watching the latest G No A again and Tensai Shimura Doubutsen. Not forgetting some clips from the fancam during Arashic, Arachic, Arasick Cool and Soul con.

Ahh.... Animax has finally started again on Astro. If before, only my parents are watching TV, now, I find myself being a total couch potato watching all those anime, especially Yu Yu Hakusho, Law of Ueki, Dragon Ball (though it's the earliest ep) so on and so forth. Above all my favourite would be Chronicles of the Wings a.k.a Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE since the characters are crossover from Cardcaptor Sakura and xxxHolic. Syaoran and Sakura all grown up weehoooo, and Toya, Sakura's the bully of a brother is king, whoaaaaaa. Not forgetting Hachikuro - Honey and Clover. Downloading the whole series took forever, good thing there's Animax now. Though, now it makes me want to see Hachimitsu To Kurooba movie so much!!!!! Other than the fact that Sho is acting as Takemoto. One would thought that I'm 16 instead of 24 ^__^;

Memory Loss

I barely have enough time to sleep due to the rushing of a presentation that is due this Monday though I can't resist myself to make some caps from this week's G No Arashi. It's Oh-chan's & Sho-kun's memory game part 2. As for what Oh-chan said about Shochi's improvement in his drawing... I think not, hehe. The drawing that looks great is Oh-chan's, the one that looks like a kindergarten's handwork is Shochi's. Bwahahahahaha.

The game, match two pictures that is revealed and guess what the picture is.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
As Dun said, Sho's Monalisa would make Leonardo Da Vinci cry from laughing too much. And honestly... does a rooster lay egg? Wahahahahaha. Totoro looks like an abominable snowman, the frog looks... cute. Hahahahahaha

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The guys were not laughing at Oh-chan's Mona Lisa especially Jun who gelak guling-guling. They laughed because they finally could make sense what picture this was

Team Aiba & Jun won a lot in this round of the game leaving Team Nino & Ohno with... a frog and tamagoyaki. Though a source said that G No Arashi (Ganbare) is going to be changed to Q No Arashi (Quiz?). Time slot is going to be changed too? Aiyo.

Random Rant

Ohisashiburi minna!!! (Been a long time everyone)

Just a random rant for this week's entry. After weeks of working on-site suddenly the thought of going back to the office with the bosses breathing behind my back does not seem so appealing. There were of course meetings to attend, deadline to meet, quotations to make and not forgetting complaints to be taken care of. The week is mixed with some good and bad events - of course, no one could expect everything to go as rosy as they want. I had to change my tyre again by the side of the road in less than a month. The first was at the construction site when I accidentally drove onto the nail on the road. Good thing was that there were my collegues around to change the tyre for me. The next was early this week when I realized, the same tyre that I change was already damaged with the wire went out of it - I thought my car needed some balancing work when my steering wheel went berserk everytime I drove which of course was wrong. It was in the middle of the night and gladly that I stopped at the petrol kiosk nearby.

My lil brother went back home and being a good sister that I am (yelah tu, hehehe) I made spaghetti which was proven a little bit too hot for an Italian food ^^; (I can't help it that I love spicy food).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Want some?

Have I told you about my attempt of making my own daifuku (Japanese rice cake with red bean paste) since I could not find it sold in JB? Well this is what it turned out to be as I followed the recipe I got from the internet step-by-step.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And this is what it is supposed to look like.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Gahhhh mouthwatering

Apparently it was out of shape and out of taste. First try is a failure, gotta try again or maybe just ask one of my friends to buy and courier it up for me from KL - providing that it would stay consumable after a few days, hehe.

My order of Arashi goods had arrived - Arashic Limited Edition, Aozora Pedal Limited Edition A and Lafapoi's tumpang sekaki Aozora Pedal Limited Edition B. Ahhh sugoi!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I know that my cousin Irra and I jokingly said that our dream guy would be combination of Arashi members - Jun's face, Sho's physical, Nino's ability to play guitar, Ohno's drawing skills, Aiba's genkiness and bakawaii attitude, Sho's intellect since he's the only one with a degree from Keio University - the third best uni in Japan. Then again that is just a gibberish rant of fangirls, muahahaha.

As for yesterday went for a walk alone at Jusco Tebrau (sabishii *_*). As always went to buy some lunch and afterwards heading to Harris - the giant bookstore with a music & video section which sells Japanese and Korean dramas and CDs. Though I would call it my almost perfect hide-away in JB since they don't have issues of Wink-Up, Myojo, Duet etc etc and that the J-albums there are mainly consists of Ayumi Hamasaki and W-inds. I bought Hero SP which is the continuation of Hero - totally cool since at the end it indicated that Kuryu Kouhei (Takuya Kimura) is called back to Tokyo XD. Guess that was why I dreamt of him few nights back dressed kakkoily in black. Fullmetal Alchemist - Conqueror of Shambala - I totally love the Elric brothers and their power of transfiguration and lastly Umizaru (Sea Monkey - no kidding). Not about monkeys of course. It was about a team of selected candidate for the Japan Coast Guard. Can't help but saying "Kakkoi ne" throughout the movie *sighs.

Another good news, I would keep it for myself (and apparently known to only few people) until I get it and confirmed as I don't want to jinx it. Just wish me luck in my future endevours ^^V

**Finally my CB is cooperating (credits and hugs to someone), making the viewing of the PV possible tonight. Nino storylined the PV, wow. His Hollywood experience might have enhance his skills. The storyline is superb with a mix of bittersweet emotion playing around. Jun with the role of a mediator is something to look at. With Sho's role, I don't know. There's like a mix feeling of smacking him or comforting him. When he went "Gomen" he just reminded me of Kimura Takuya >_< Aiba and Ohno moment is something that I just couldn't miss. Wow, I finally spaz about Aiba XD When Sho caught a glimpse of the girl... and the PV ends with the guys playing janken (paper-rock-scissor game)

Late Report - Bon Odori 2006

It was nearing the weekend and I was assign to supervise a site that is due to launch during the weekend. It was the Bon Odori weekend in Shah Alam. I was working previous Sunday and I would be nuts if I work straight 2 Sundays and miss my chance to attend the J-Ent Malaysia gathering on the 15th July. At first my boss said yes, on Friday morning. I straight away called up my mom for our traveling arrangement. An hour later, my boss said no - after my mom just returned from the bus station. Mendokousai. After a few session of reasoning (and begging) my boss gave me the green light to take the whole weekend off - Finally, with the condition (there's always a catch) that I prepare the drawing for the site before I go off.

Then my lovely cousin called me at 7-ish informing that she would also be going back to KL that night. I totally forgot her being in Pontian since I basically stayed with my uncle in JB the whole week. Long story short, I went over to her house before she sent me at Harshaz's place in Bangi.

Okay I did say last time that I don't meet up or give out my hp number to strangers. For the weekend, it was a huge exceptional. We have been communication through the forum and soem of them I met first time during the gathering. The beauty of it is, we hit it off right away. Arashi fans united!!!

So anyway as I reached Harshaz's & Buzzy's place Lina and Linda was already there. Linda did a topple over - I didn't give her an exact confirmation whether I would come or not as a surprise XD Drove over to Mid Valley to meet the rest and it was quite a crowd. Some of us traveled far for the gathering, sugoi!! We played bowling, had lunch, chat (like duh) and left for Shah Alam at about 5 ish.

The stadium gate would be opened after 5 so our timing was just nice. The traffic was starting to build up towards the parking lot of the Panasonic factory next to Matsushita Sports Center. Busses are adding with a steady flow of people wearing yukata (summertime kimono) and yes, there are even girls wearing tudung who also wears yukata. Looks cool.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The kawaii kodomo who sat next to us

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Us - I was holding the balloon that was later being consumed by Lafa, hehehe

At the gate we were given uchiwa (fan) each and the food stalls were already opened. The food there are all expensive so we shared and I have to admit - I am very very addicted to daifuku. There are other things that I tried that I rarely ate like yakisoba and okonomiyaki. The drum starts at 7 pm followed by the cultural dance. It was fun when people are joining over for the dance. The last dance was my favourite because the steps are interesting and very easy to follow. The dance broke off and we went for prayer. Dinner was great with picnic-like atmosphere by the track. The event ended at 9.30pm and all of us went back to Bangi with Arashic played on the CD player.

Slumber party time. We watched One Concert over and over, oohing and aahing over our boys - especially the part when Sho and Nino was being naughty. There won't be fun without a session of A No Arashi so Lafa and Shooqi did their version by justifying whether helium could really effect people's voice. The result - true XD Then we wached the latest G No Arashi and I admit, I was the first person to fall asleep in the group. Even Lina who was sick slept later than me and Jun's new hair-do failed to keep my eyes open.

It was great and fun. My mom was quite surprised when I told her that everyone that I met during the weekend (except for Linda) are my new friends and that I have never met them before this. We have the same interest. The bond of Arashian, eh?

The ONE

あなたにとって 一番大切な[ONE]は何ですか?
Anata ni totte ichiban taisetsu na ONE wa nandesuka?

その[ONE]を 考えたことありますか?
Sono ONE wo kangaetakoto arimasuka?

Okay get your eyes rolling again. It's the opening words for Arashi 2005 One Summer Concert. The meaning - roughly that is (Thanks to Aida who forwarded me the subtitles made by Dalinee and Lina)

What is the most important 'One' for you?
Have you ever given a thought of that 'One'?

Famous word - THE ONE

Have you?
What do you think when you hear the word One?
Your other half? Your family?

It could be anything dear to you. Of course when we hear 'The One' most people would associate it with their other half ie: spouse/husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend. For one, how could we identify our most important one? I'm not sure myself whether the 'One' feeling is derived in a spur of a moment, trend following or is it mutual feeling? Anyone could make a mistake, but then again, everybody makes mistake. Only the measure of the mistake made is different.

Is it the feeling that makes your heart beats so fast you didn't know what hit you? The classing cartwheel in the stomach feeling? Can't see them eye to eye? Picturing the future with them?

The ONE right now?
Or the ONE for all time?

Sorry, I'm too emphazing on the One as the other half. The one would be the very first in our mind when we see something. It could be anything though - car, food, clothing, books. It could even be the lamp post for all I care ^^

I couldn't give an exact answer as for what or who is my important 'One'. My family would top up my list, followed by my friends.

Koibito?

Zenzen arimasen.

Picky?
Just muddled up.

*Concert roll-off*
Ohno: And so the concert wraps up with this song. Today has been enjoyable - thank you!
Aiba: Do you recall the question that was asked at the beginning of the concert? What is the most important one for you?
Sho: Within our lives, there are a lot of pain and sadness but above all that, there should be more happiness.
Nino: Oneself, family members, friends, loved ones. Within each of us, there must be an important One, no doubt.
Jun: Have you already discovered your most important one? Lastly, for all of us Arashi members, the most important one is here - all of you~~~ (You heart-melting sweet talker. But I still dislike your new hair extension ^^;)

My last word though,
Don't forget the Almighty One.

Tumpang Komen

Well actually I've been trying to post a comment on Along Zamose's friendster blog but to no avail, the error page kept popping up. Since my name was mentioned, here's my comment.

Zamose, ni untuk blog kau. Bayangkan jelah aku post kat situ, huhuhu

Diah: Nama bilik yang ada TV tu CR. Kalau time kat bangunan lama KTAM, TV cuma ada kat dewan makan dengan bilik APD. BB tu bilik bacaan yang kat luar BR (bilik rawatan) KTAM lama. Eh chup, kat sekolah baru BB kat mana? Ke aku yang salah nama? Tapi memandangkan kau kata akhir tahun (sebab pindah bangunan baru tengah tahun), aku rasa kau refer pada CR. Aku paling ingat role kau time Hari Guru. Time tu semua orang tgh sibuk tgk Dangerous Mind ^^. Yang bukak lagu tu bukan aku, tapi Esah :D yang komen lagu rosak tu aku ^^; Rindu kat Leque... expecting kan?

Sho you.. gahhhhhhh

Tak Cukup Tanah Tuesday

I sent a fellow collegue over to Hospital Sultanah Aminah today because he's suspected to be contracting dengue fever. The crowd at the hospital as always was crazy. I always found myself looking for a parking space and drive around and round and round for I don't know how long before finding a spot. It's always, and I mean ALWAYS a spot far off from the block. Though that's minor compare to anything else.

I haven't been to HSA for a long time. The last time was more than a year ago when one of my cousin was suspected with the dengue fever. I don't know which block is which and the signboard were not helping at all. Neither does some nurses that I met along the way. The first one I met was snapping at me and acted all high and mighty for not knowing where is the Out-Patient Department. Her exact word, "Mana boleh awak tak tau OPD mana." Like, hello? I don't live at the hospital. When I asked for direction all she said was look for the sign.

Sign?! Which?!

The first signboard that I found for the OPD was junctions away. Good thing the other nurse with her was friendly and warm to provide me the direction. Thank you. I found the OPD and well guess again, the nurse at the reception was snapping at the patient before me. The patient was asking if it's possible to open her stitch in a very polite note. She didn't bring the letter for it and then the nurse started snapping like the patient was a total dumb. Couldn't she at least talk nicely that it's not possible to remove the stitches without the documentation? It's not like the patient was shouting in the first place. Afterwards the ordeal was fine, minus the numerous counters that we had to go before finally having a consultation with the doctor.

There were of course, lots of consultation room open and again some of the nurses were snapping and biting it just peeved me off. When my collegue had to be transported to the ward block, all I asked was where is block D and then the nurse in charge was saying in an angry note, "Wad mana saya mana tau, awak pergi sanala." Rude and not answering my question. The nurses at the ward was luckily, warm, friendly and accomodating. Thank you again.

I just don't get it. People goes to the hospital to recover from their illness though, how could anyone recover with the "warm" treatment showed by the respective nurses? Is the pay that low that they bite and snap? Or was the sick people bothering them?

*Sighs.

Weekend

Another session from the public cyber cafe with my cousin. The dinner was fine though I hardly know anyone in the crowd save for the group from Malpakat and of course Mr Steve Choong. Irra was fidgeting throughout the dinner because of the unfamiliar surrounding. It was of course attended by engineers from numerous companies and I felt out of place since of course it's not my niche.

Reaching the ballroom, Irra and I both thought that we would both be late since finding a parking space inside Pan Pac was crazay and I was driving the company's Ford Ranger. I kept hearing this screaching sound on top of me alerting me that the car was too darn tall for the parking lot. In the end I drove out from the parking lot, paid RM 2.50 before going to the lot beside Kotaraya. Then I found peace - but not quite since rushing with my Cinderella shoes was definitely killing my feet. I kept wondering how on earth other female could wear 2 and half inch heels and looking good after hours wearing it. Though, no matter how much it kills my feet, I still love that shoes.

After few minutes going into the dinner the crowd at the table began to warm up, serving food and making commentary on it. By the time dinner ends my tummy was so full I could hardly move.

Sunday, went over to check the workers, did some brisk walking at the park since I forgot to wear my shoes in the morning (baka me) went back to my uncle's and watched Ayumi Hamasaki's 2004-2005 countdown concert - finally after months buying it. Went to Jusco Taman U and now here I am amidst loud noise of the CC. My fingers are numb. Til next time I leave you with Ayumi Hamasaki's Blue Bird performance from the 16th June Music Station performance (since they still haven't had the 23rd June one) ^_^

Blue Bird Translation

When the gray clouds drift away
And the sky stops crying
I'll wake up to your voice
From my sleep, a little bit long
You calmly watched the wings on my back
Waiting for the season to take off

Let's go together across the blue sky
Looking down on the white sand beach
No need to have a serious talk
I need nothing except your smile
You said so and smiled to me

Words were not necessary
My place was always here
I murmured, "The sun is too bright"
And camouflaged the tears welling up

Let's go together across the blue sky
Wherever we may get toIf you receive a wound
I'll give my wing to you
You said so and cried a little

Let's go together across the blue sky
Looking down on the white sand beach
No need to have a serious talk
I need nothing except your smile
And I gave way to tears as well

Date Wanted

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Another weekend with a gala dinner. My bosses are going to Vietnam this weekend for a material for our project and they both left me with 2 dinner invitations for the Institution of Engineers Malaysia Annual Dinner with a message - bring a date.

A date? Well that's what I need. So if anybody interested to be my date for the dinner, kindly drop a message in my blog before Friday, 30th June, 8pm.

Heh, macamlah ade.

Though knowing I wouldn't be able to conjure up a date, I asked my cousin Irra to accompany me for the dinner. At least we could both look for young and eligible engineers in the crowd *wicked grin* ~~ dream on la minah, hahahaha

2nd Serdang Sunshine Gathering

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

UPM,

Started out as an agriculture school that was opened in 1931, was upgraded to 'Kolej Pertanian Malaya' in 1947. After going through the phase of World War 2 and more upgrading, in 1971 Universiti Pertanian Malaysia was formed focusing on agriculture, forestry and veterinary. In 1997, the name was changed from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia to Universiti Putra Malaysia in accordance to the emphasization on various sceince and technology courses offered in UPM other than agriculture.

I'm actually typing right now with my numb fingers in a cyber cafe near to my uncle's house. A bit... nostalgic I would say since the last time I went to one for netsurfing was ages ago. Straight to the core of the topic.

Yesterday was the 2nd Serdang Sunshine Gathering; ie: UPM Alumni. Initially, it wasn't my plan to join in the dinner but since Ms Lee & Mr Lok was insistent, I went. Of course, both of the graduated from UPM too and that was how I was called for an interview in the first place. Decked out in my best clothes and my 'Cinderella' shoes, I rushed out from my uncle's house thinking that I might be late since I didn't know where does the Grands Straits Garden situated at. The restaurant could be seen from the main road and I was so relieved.

Reaching there, I was among the earliest people. Looking from the list, I was the 5th. First impressions are almost always inaccurate. In my case, it was totally out of line. At first I thought that I would be sorely left out when the crowd comes in as I saw the attendance list as they stated the year of graduation behind our names. I know that most of the attendance would be from the 70s class, few from 80s and I know I was the youngest of all - 2004. I was wrong. I went out to the balcony to find a senior graduated in 1980 smoking his cigar. We talked about our job swapping business card (I forgot to refill my namecard before going, baka me) and in the end he was asking for my CV. I didn't realize that I was being interviewed in the first place though the questions that he asked me was actually mind boggling.

My bosses rang up, worrying that I might get lost getting to the restaurant and I went in to mingle with the crowd. I was very wrong thinking that I might get excluded. They looked at my name tag and start joking about giving me a 2nd round of orientation from the super seniors since of course I was the youngest. Everyone was very warm and friendly and I could almost see how all of them were back in college. The eldest senior who came was YAB Dato' Mohd Noor who graduated in 1955. I learnt that our eldest senior around is 92 years old and couldn't come due to his health. Back in those days UPM was known as the countries' (and some say region) best agriculture school around. From the conversation I also learnt that lots of UPM graduates from the 70's made their way to work overseas, teaching and handling their own business.

The dinner started later than the itinerary with all the mingling and catching up in the crowd. Mr James Ho, the chairperson and also a close friend of my bosses told me earlier on to sit at the VIP table, but I kind of freaked out and sat next to Ms Lee. To think that I would be safe? Fat chance. I was jarred out of the conversation when Mr Ho said through the speaker, "Nadiah, your seat is here at the VIP table. Don't worry they won't give you a ragging - that much." There I was seated among Dato' Soh Poh Sheng, Dr Rohani Abdullah, Dato' Mohd Noor, YB Lim Kee Moi and boy I was nervous thinking what would I do if I managed to make a fool out of myself when I eat.

The food was nice. As an appetizer there were baby octopus, eggs, shellfish, fishcake and shrimp. 2nd dish was sharkfin & crabmeat soup, followed by roasted chicken with prawn cracker, sea-bass cooked in chilli (super hot and spicy, I love), fried rice, shrimp in chilli, an unidentified sea-food (looks to me like cow's foot but not) and more that I forgot the menu. One thing I know, I could barely move when I was done eating. We had a short introduction on ourselves and honestly I felt like UPM is like Yale or Oxford, kind of like an old school feeling. I felt that because during the introduction most of the attendance has their kids going to UPM and preserving the generation in the university. Well of course during my introduction I was proud to say that my sister and brother are both UPM graduates :D

One of the highlights in gathering was when they were showing off the pictures during the 70s orientation and what I saw made my jaw fell. The orientation that they went through was a total berserk and the pictures were funny and mostly disgusting (mostly on the guy's side). There was a picture of a senior during mealtime with 2 juniors eating with their plate on the table but they were sitting on the floor. Kind of hard reaching and seeing what were they eating and I could see the same thing in the same picture behind the table, the same thing happened. Then there were of course the fertilizer pond bath ie: mandi baja. That's the other word for 'bathing' inside a pool of cow's/bull's dump. Good thing all of us were done with our dinner as it looked so darn disgusting. Then of course some censored picture during the ragging session which made me and the rest of female attendance blushed furiously. Not giving details on that one.

Nearing the end, we sang the songs from the 70s orientation which was thoroughly bawdy and funny and sang Auld lang syne as we parted. We managed to raise RM1625.00 during the lightning donation after the meal and contributed RM2625.00 (another RM1000.00 was the balance from the previous gathering back in 2001) for the building of UPM new clock tower.

75 years of legacy.

Arashic, Arashi-ku

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thanks for Jun's radio show, Jun Style that lots of Arashi fans get the opportunity to hear snippets from their upcoming album Arashic. They sounded more matured and as Dalinee said, the album just screamed - OTONA (adult)

This is my opinion on all of the songs that I've heard

1. Wish
The opening song for the drama Hana Yori Dango. It sounded genki through and through and I definitely love the lyric. About a man who wants to improve himself before presenting his love to the one that he likes most. I love the PV too, the guys were decked in red suit watching over a stage of puppets.

2. ランナウェイ・トレイン [Runaway Train]
Sounds funky and upbeat. Definitely a song that I would love to hear over and over again. Reminds me of being in a train watching the scenery outside and running to the sun, hehehe sounds cheesy. They spent a lot on this track as they hired the guys from Xtreme to play guitar in this one, whoaaaaa. More than words~~~~ ^_^

3. Raise Your Hands
Sounded retro and upbeat, honestly I think these guys are going retro all over XD. I could almost see them performing in the natsu-con urging fans to raise up their hands for this one.

4. きっと大丈夫 [Kitto Daijoubu]
My feel good song, do I need to elaborate more - Lucky lucky baby shigoto wa rasuto no oo my groove!!!

5. Ready to Fly
Ohno's pick-up song and it sounded retro 80's to me because of the guitar arrangement. Totally different from his previous solo. Can't wait how he would perform this song in the natsu-con. I know it's gonna be smexy XD

6. キャラメル・ソング [Caramel Song]
Nino's pick up song. True to the title the song oozes out sweetness and kawaii-ness. My head slowly moved to the song automatically when I heard this at Mit-to's house. Go Nino!!! You sure nailed it in picking this song for tha album.

7. Cool & Soul
To me it's a new version of their previous La Tormenta, sounded cool and I'm loving it - A~ra~shi~cool~~A~ra~shi~soul~~~

8. 旅立ちの朝 [Tabidachi No Asu]
It's sexy with the sax-play in the background, setting off a romantic theme. I kept playing the song over and over again - can't get enough of it. Dalinee was saying that this would be the best song for a candlelit dinner *in love*

9. I Want Somebody
Jun's pick-up song. Gahh, I'm so glad that it sounded good as I don't like his W/me in One album. Very 80's sounding with a hint of, in my opinion a bit MJ at the opening. But I totally love the chorus - ~~I want somebody~~~~

10. Secret Eyes
Aiba's pick-up song. Again sounding retro and very adult to me but it definitely fits Aiba to the end. It kinda screamed AIBA!!

11. 超ありがとう [Chou Arigatou]
Sho's pick up song sounded very motown-ish and made me move to the tune of the song everytime I hear it. Another feel good smooth song, reminded me of his butai - The Beautiful Game

12. Carnival Night part 2
Weird thing that they put the part 2 first before the part 1 >_< style="font-weight: bold;">

13. シルバーリング [Silver Ring]
Another ballad in the album. I just melt listening to Ohno's voice at the opening *sighs* ~~kimi wo aishiteru~~~~ zutto~~

bonus track:
14. Love Parade
Sounds very jazzy and I know they don't put this track over in the Limited Edition copy. I know I would get the normal edition one, since Mit-to told me HMV doesn't have the LE for Arashi T_T

I forgot which track but there were one where Sho wrote the rap part in just 3 hours... was it Runaway Train? Enough spazzing for the day, I'm off XD

Credits to Wenna and Dun for the Jun-Style upload link, arigatou!!!
