Late 80s

Primary school began.
Tagging my brother wherever he may go playing.
Request for a younger sibling.
The I-forgot-to-do-my-homework routine.
Ramlah Ram wearing a white gown with huge red heart on it (or was it in the 90s?)
Michael Bolton with his huge hair and denims
Never ending music influence by my sister - which brings me to today's post. Because of her I love listening to Belinda Carlisle's songs!!!!

My all time favourite 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth'. Watching the clip back again... boy, the 'angkat-angkat- earth-ball' routine is sure something, hihihi.

Triple Post

Hah, ambik tu, bertubi-tubi post, since god knows when will be the next time I post another one, hahaha. Anyway, just currently stuck with my current earworm - a song by both my favourite singers - Yuna Ito and Celine Dion - Anata ga iru kagiri. Since it's next to impossible to go to Celine Dion's concert in KL this April, watching youtube would be enough, huhuhu. Enjoy.

Yeehaa!!

Finally I finished downloading last week's music station. Both of my favourite bands were on it
Who?

Arashi and Backstreet Boys!!!!!!
*excited uchiwa movement*
Hahaha, my fangirl metre is running amok.
too bad, I only found Arashi's part on that MS episode. The only BSB clip on show on youtube was from their perf in Music Fighter.

*Runs back and plays the MS again*

Soundtracks of My Life

Surprise surprise, 2 posts in a night. So what? I'm fresh with ideas so while I'm in the mood and have the time to write, here I am with the second post. We grew up listening to songs and I bet there are songs that remind you a lot of those years - growing up, teenage, adult. I knew I grew up surrounded with songs. My mom loves songs from the 60s, my dad loves arabic songs, my late grandma loved songs during P. Ramlee era and those classic Hindi songs from the movie Sanggam being her favourite. Well here's the list of the songs that reminded me strongly of those stages.

6 years old and lower - 10 Little Indians
My mom bought me a nursery rhyme cassette and I bet I drove my brother and sister crazy when I kept playing '10 Little Indians' over and over again. Those days nursery rhymes rules, though I have this bits and pieces of memory of someone kept playing Noor Kumalasari & Sudirman's song repeatedly, hmmm.
Favourite Line: 1 little, 2 little, 3 little Indian

7 to 12 years old - Roxette's Fading Like Flower
The time when my elder siblings preference for music tend to influence a bit on what I like. My sister with her New Kids On The Block and my bro's preference on local pop, Guns n Roses and Scorpions. That was the time when I came across Roxette and Joyride being the first album I ever bought marked my younger years.
Favourite Line: In a time, When the suns descends alone, I ran a long long way from home...
p.s: I did ran away one time, not from home but from kelas mengaji on foot because I want to catch Moero Attack on TV :P sure drove my mom nuts at that time, hehehe, sorry mak.

13 to 15 years old - Backstreet Boy's We've Got It Goin' On
Those years, boy band rules and BSB was famous. Of course I had to smuggle my walkman to school and reserve my nights listening to their album even as PMR was closing in. Believe it or not, the poor people of FORM records was my constant victims for the guy's info. Lights off and 11.15 pm meant my time with my walkman started, hehehe.
Favourite Line: Jam on coz Backstreet's got it!

16 to 17 years old - Goo Goo Doll's Iris
Changes at school when it became a co-ed school. Okay make that my old all-girls school was cease to exist and the new school brought a lot of differences. The difference? Why, boys of course. I knew I had some squabbles with some of the boys in my class because of Green Day and BSB. Iris' chorus meant a lot for me at that time. Okay I rephrase that. For someone at that time la. Not forgetting that Nicholas Cage was absolutely superb in the City of Angels ^_^
Favourite Line: I just want you to know who I am

18 to 19 years old - Jann Arden's Insensitive
I lived at the hostel that time and during Valentine's Day for that year the TV aired 'Untamed Hearts' that starred Christian Slater which led me to 'Bed of Roses'. The song was the movie's soundtrack and it stroke a chord at that time to the thing that happened.
Favourite Line: I fell too fast, I feel too much

20 to 24 years old - Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The One
I have to say that that was my experimental years with relationships - online, blind dates, not so quite dates and all that. Experience taught me not to trust that much with online relationships but I managed to be hooked with a couple of it which turned out disastrous. But I managed to come across really good friends from other continent and met up face to face with them - Kak Nana, Abang Steve, granny Musica, Lee, Kikki - you guys are rare. Enough said but this song managed to make me cry in the middle of Midvalley Megamall - not anymore though. The song is way too beautiful for me to bawl over anymore.
Favourite Line: I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away

25 to 26 years old - Arashi's Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi
My workaholic years - I worked late and through the weekend. This is where the term overworked and underpaid comes into the picture. Even with only 10 days annual leave, I managed to have extra 3 days for both years. Surprising isn't it? Well anyway Arashi's song kept me sane with their upbeat tempo and positive lyric. It was no surprise when rumour spread that some girls didn't commit suicide because of this song. It meant - thanks and gratitude to rain and storm.
Favourite Line: 生まれてきた僕たちは たぶんピンチに強い
Romaji: umaretekita bokutachi wa tabun pinchi ni tsuyoi
Translation: We were born, maybe the trials in life will make us stronger

Our Song - Nickelback's Far Away
Well I have to admit my sayang gave me a lot of songs but I have to say this one is my favourite, hehehe.

School is starting soon. Let me laze away................. while I can -_-;

Nande?! WHY?! Kenapa?!

Okay, I have to admit I am speechless after the announcement of the Asian Idol. But since it was voted by SMS and the double country voting surely made a huge difference, I have to leave it as it is. Talent wise and vocal wise, Mike Mohede of Indonesia, our very own Jac Victor and Philippines' Mau Marcelo are in my top list. So anyway, these are the performance by Mike and Jac though I was quite disappointed with Mau's choice of song since it did not highlight her vocal talent that much, in my opinion.

Blast From the Past

I wonder if people here still remember Juliet The Orange, local duo made up of girls from KL who, in my opinion managed to make me stuck playing their cassette on my then walkman until the cassette was spoilt. I remember making my bestfriend buy the album and made him hooked. I've been searching up and low for the mp3 and voila! thanks to jiwang I managed to download it, hurrah!! As for the video, no luck. There was one in youtube but it wasn't the official MV. No Pin Lean and Mei May. That sucks.

So this is my favourite song - Eyelash. First time I heard the lyric, I was kind of blurred by the meaning of it. I mean, what was with the shoes, phone and the choc mousse? Well, eventually I understood and I like what I deciphered. Here's the lyric. Knock yourself out understanding it, hahaha.

Juliet the Orange - Eyelash.

Reality, infinity
All the pieces here
Athletic shoes, Chocolate mousse
Cellular phone in his room
You will see one day, I’m here to stay
Hold your hand to me
We’ll find a way

Lightning streaks, teary bliss
Slicking on the grease
With company you will see
What this all is meant to be
You will see one day, I’m here to stay
Hold your hand to me
We’ll find a way

( chorus )
Close your eyes, snip your lashes
They fall within the ashes
The frosty old feeling, will melt oh so painlessly
Close your eyes, kill the darkness
The shears are in the closet
The muses they pray loud
For your listless journey to me

Innocence, garlands burn
All the memories
Transparencies, you will see
What this is meant to be
You will see one day
I’m here to stay, hold your hand to me
We’ll find a way

Close your eyes, snip your lashes
They fall within the ashes
The frosty old feeling, will melt oh so painlessly
Close your eyes, kill the darkness
The shears are in the closet
The muses they pray loud
For your listless journey to me

Reality, infinity
All the pieces here
Athletic shoes, chocolate mousse
Cellular phone in his room

If you happen to want the song, you can get it here.

Tonight the Asian Idol result will be announced. After the performance last night, I'm rooting for Jac not because she's Malaysian but because of her performance last night was wow, and Indonesian Mike. He kinda remind me of... what's his name... the guy who won the 2nd American Idol with Clay Aiken on the 2nd place..... aiseh. Never mind that. I love his voice.

ps: My condolences to my friend Miza for her miscarriage, and congratulations to Un for his impending marriage.

*Tummy Rumbling*

I was driving and yet again... hearing the song never fails - so far - to make me salivate and craving for...

A BURGER!!!!!!!!!!! -_-;

Well it started in 2005 when Don and Drew had their own slot on 987fm, a Singaporean radio station - and also my all time favourite station. They were always up for the challenges given by the listeners whether to do a remix, a mix or even come up with a song. Haven't heard the song for so long and when I did... wallao!! Good thing they still have their web page on. Yeah, yeah, I already did an entry for this in 2005, but what the heck, the song's good and funny. You could sing along to the song here, hehehe. The quality is not that good though - I can't change the setting on my audio recorder -_-; Dedicated to burger-tepi-jalan lovers out there, hehehe

Ramly (Burger Lembu) - Don and Drew

Raaaaaaaaamly!!!
Burger lembu!! (this part sound like Boogiely boo, but it's actually burger lembu - on a mat saleh tongue)

Yo Ramly, you're with the family
Your meat is manly
Get fatter than fat

Yo Ramly, you're with the family
Your meat is manly
Get fatter than fat

Yo Ramly is the burger that I love to eat,
Even though I don't know what's in the meat,
A lil bit of egg and a lot of sauce,
No matter what they say I don't believe its horse
If you're feeling like a Ramly in Singapore
You gotta get up off your a**
You gotta leave this shore
You gotta barge us in you gotta get 3 or 4
But no matter how much
You gonna want some more

Bun, patty, egg, cheese, rubber duck please
I hold my Ramly between my knees
Yo even though the chef is infested with fleas
Squeeze the buns together to release the grease

Yo Ramly, you're with the family
Your meat is manly
Get fatter than fat

Ramly is good, good Malaysian food
Ramly is good, eat it like you should

Remember the time I was in JB
A rumble in my tummy I was feeling hungry
I just had lunch it was a quarter to 3
I ran across the road and then I found
RAMLY!!

I went up to the man and then I said how much
He said if you ain't got the money then you can't touch
But I needed to eat burger I just could not wait
So I just took off the road and then I salivate

Ramly is good, good Malaysian food
Ramly is good, eat it like you should

So what about the time I was in Langkawi
I walked into the market so much stuff to see
Yo had my pretty home girl walking next to me
And there I behold, what did I see?
RAMLY!!

At first I was afraid I was petrified
I didn't know what the hell was being fried
The woman said "burger"
I said don't you lie
And you know it was the best thing I've ever tried

Yo Ramly, you're with the family
Your meat is manly
Get fatter than fat

Kuala Lumpur there was a special time
Don and Drew were there without a nickel or dime
No money to get, no money to lend
We only had a little bit of money to spend
So we got a ramly burger with bun and patty
We really didn't care we were gonna get fatty
Blimey its so good that just we have to sing it
The yummy little burger only cost 2 ringgit

Song of the Day - Stolen

Dashboard Confessional - Stolen

We watch the season
Pull up it’s own stakes
And catch the last weekend
Of the last week
Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced
Another sun soaked season fades away

You have stolen my heart
You have stolen my heart

Invitation only
Grant Farewells
Crash the best one
Of the best ones
Clear liquor and cloudy eyed
Too early to say goodnight

You have stolen my heart
You have stolen my heart

And from the ballroom floor
We are in celebration
One good stretch before our hibernation
Our dreams assured and we all
Will sleep well
Sleep Well

Sleep Well
Sleep Well
Sleep Well

You have stolen
You have stolen my
You have stolen my heart

Watch you spin around
In your highest heels
You are the best one
Of the best ones
We
All
Look
Like
We
Feel

You have stolen my
You have stolen my
You have stolen my heart

P.S: For the special someone who have stolen mine ;)
