6 Women and a Baby

What do you get when you put 6 friends - 5 single women and a mother with a 5 months old baby who haven't seen each other for months and even years?

You get a commotion with everyone wanting turns to hold the baby and of course, food. We had a small get together at Plaza Pelangi after a few weeks trying to get a good date for that sole purpose. I picked up Odah and Nani at the bus terminal on Saturday after work and boy, we were loud. Took our lunch at McD and pretended that particular section of the restaurant as ours. They were too many things to catch up on. I haven't seen Odah since the day she flew to the UK and I haven't seen Nani since secondary school ended. After we checked up and getting used to the changes in our features, we picked up where we left off the point when we last met. There were no changes in our speech style - we're still as loud as we were in school, thank god hahahaha. I would have a heart attack if Nani turns quiet (she is never a person to be lost for words) and Odah is still the same person I've known even after she returned from abroad (we were classmate for the whole 5 years, dorm-mate for 3 years and my seat partner in the class for 2 whole years). Brought them up to meet another fellow friend, Ipah at the shop who sadly can't join us for our get together on Sunday because of work. She is doing well as an optometrist/branch manager and we get great deal in prices and recommendations on glasses and contacts (yes, Nani, Odah and I wears glasses *sighs). Both of them stayed at my house for a night because they are the ones who have to make 3 hours trip for our little get together in JB. We relinquished on our escapades in school - the puppet show at the first floor of Aspuri (girl's hostel) that we put up to cheer on A.T students who were taking an exam paper that the rest of us didn't take, the constant domination of the first class spot in front of the television every weekend, brush off with the wardens, the terrors of being a school freshmen (our seniors were the most terrorsome lot, or so we thought), old gossips and of course our constant war - girls vs boys when one of us purposely switched off the power supply to the boy's hostel quite a number of times (yes, the main power board is in our territory)
We (Nani, Odah, Eena, Qis, Nofie and I) got together in the afternoon with Nofie bringing along her daughter, Little Qis which we can't get enough of. Took our pre-lunch at Dunkin' Donuts and lunch at the Season's and we pretty much stayed there for hours taking pictures and looking over some pictures that Odah brought back. The sad news that we got was that Qis' big brother passed away earlier this month. We knew him some time before when he gave us a career talk in school about being a quantity surveyor and how to get there.
Did some window shopping afterwards, and besides, it is the megasale carnival again all over the country which I was so glad I managed to refrain myself from buying stuff I don't really need (due to taking along a small sum of money, leaving the rest at home). Before we know it, Lil Qis was crying and its time to head back home. Nani and Odah promised on getting back in JB on my second salary (Oh no! *gasp). We had a great time and thinking of pushing off our alumni for the school reunion which maybe would only happen in few more years. Felt so happy and tired that i went straight to bed the moment i got home, hehehehe.
