Diamond Dust

Feeling definitely mellow for the weekend, especially at night like this when everyone went to bed leaving me alone at the living room clicking the night away in front of the monitor. The theme song for this weekend is definitely 'Diamond Dust' by Kyosuke Himuro, the soundtrack for Ice World. For those who loves J-Drama, I'm very sure they would not forget this particular drama starred Yutaka Takenouchi and Nanako Matsushima, about a woman - Egi Toko (Nanako) who was suspected for serial murders of her fiancee(s) after they named her as their primary insurance inheritor. That was when Hirokawa Eiki (Yutaka) came into the picture as insurance investigator to work the whole case up.

There is something about the song Diamond Dust that I could not put my finger on. Honestly I could not understand what the song was about despite the soulful singing of Kyosuke Himuro and the great tune. All I know it is about love (see told you I was feeling mellow). The search for the song translation through the internet last time was... funny. Some of the words could not make sense and finally I found an acceptable translation. Its weird how I could find a lot of translation for Ayumi Hamasaki's songs but not Kyosuke Himuro. This is the result and I was blown away. It is exactly what I am feeling right now... darn, I miss Jeff so much.

Diamond Dust - Kyosuke Himuro

Made your heart cry again tonight
The angels are testing us
Are my love like a sparkling glass?
Or like an ash-covered diamond?

The setting sun will someday
Flush out the answer

Right now I'm lovin' you
That love for you is my life, my shine
Always lovin' you
Melting your frozen loneliness with a kiss

On the night when the moon of loneliness is full
Let's embrace within my coat
Because people aren't strong enough to tame
The rampant pain in their hearts

It's alright if you turn to me
With your tear soaked eyes

Yes, I'm lovin' you
No matter how much it's hurt, this love is a diamond
Always lovin' you
Though I still can't erase the loneliness falling on you

With the fragments of our love
I'm sure we'll fill in the puzzle of the map to paradise

Right now I'm lovin' you
That love for you is my life, my shine
Always lovin' you
Melting your frozen loneliness with a kiss
